Dive Desk joins CRC to celebrate Earth Day 2018 with Clean-Up Event at Rasfannu

Dive Desk is delighted to collaborate with Customs Recreation Club to do a Dive Against Debris to mark the Earth Day 2018, in line with the years theme: End Plastic Pollution. Over 150 plastic bags and more than 300 plastic bottles were collected during the CRC's #EarthDay event held today to cleanup Rasfannu reef and shoreline! Plastic constituted the biggest chunk of trash collected with 38kg, followed by 19.5kg metal scrapes, 7kg wood, 3kg glass & 3kg miscellaneous items. By 2050, oceans will have more plastic than fish, if we don’t #KickThePlasticAddiction now!

A big thank you to Customs Recreation Club for this important initiative and a big thanks to the Dive Desk team members, without whom this would not be possible! A little effort from each of us will go a long way to #EndPlasticPollution.

We encourage all the PADI professionals we train and our divers to connect their passion for ocean adventure with a purpose for marine conservation. We encourage them to take 'fins on' action for the ocean and tackle ocean threats like marine pollution and habitat destruction.
