Dive Desk is proud to announce that we have renewed our Green Fins certificate of participation on June 1, 2015, after completing training on environmentally friendly diving and snorkeling, and successfully passing the assessment for compliance with the Green Fins Code of Conduct.

Green Fins is an international non-profit organization dedicated to protecting coral reefs through sustainable tourism, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme and the Reef-World Foundation.

Having joined the movement last year as the third Green Fins member in the Maldives, we are delighted to continue being recognized as a responsible tourism operator. The Green Fins mission highlights the importance of coral reefs: “A quarter of all marine life and half a billion people directly depend on coral reefs for survival. Yet, reefs globally are under threat. Green Fins educates and empowers people to reduce pressures on coral reefs by adopting sustainable tourism measures. Together, we can keep our coral reefs healthy and thriving for years to come.”

We remain committed to promoting eco-friendly diving practices and hope the Green Fins movement continues to have a global impact, reducing environmental harm during dive operations worldwide.
