Tubastraea (Hard Coral)

In the shaded ledges where sunlight fades, colonies of Tubastraea micrantha bloom like dark fireworks. Though a stony coral, it lives without symbiotic algae and does not build reefs, instead thriving on vertical walls and shipwrecks.

Its presence adds color and complexity to shadowed habitats, a reminder that beauty and structure aren’t always the same.
