Fusiliers & Jackfish

Streaks of blue surge past — fusiliers gliding in unison, pursued by powerful jackfish in patient arcs. The fusiliers feed on zooplankton in open water, returning to coral heads for refuge when predators close in. This constant dance of hunter and hunted sustains equilibrium in the pelagic zone. Their synchronized movements pulse with purpose, mirroring the heartbeat of the reef’s midwater life.
